A Letter from the Field
Dear brothers and sisters,
Greetings from Nepal
First of all, I like to thank all of you who are praying and supporting us in Nepal. I praised God for all His blessings.
As I wrote in an email to you requesting prayer for a conference in eastern Nepal. This is was at a place called Phidim which is a district of Panchthar. This district falls in the Far East in a hilly region. Our project was for a pastors and leaders conference for the whole district.
I was invited to teach and support the project for three days. As we started to pray for a meeting in our friday leaders meetings. God spoke to six people to join my team. We were four pastors and two leaders. We spoke on different topics such as discipleship, church planting, evangelism, training new pastors and leaders, etc.
The names of the pastor were pastors Bir Bahadur Tamang, Pastor Harka Khadka, Pastor Raman Tamang. Pastor Ganesh K.C. Other leaders present were Govinda G.C and Parsuram Giri. We also ordained a Pastor for the kingdom of God. His name is Roshan Katuwal from Laxmipur, Jhapa. He runs a Church named Living church.
Our journey was six days. We arrived in Kathmandu the first day. We traveled for a two days to reach the destination. We were there for three days in the meeting and it took to two days to come back. We went in friday after church service and were back Thursday. The journey was a blessing, but also fearful. This time of the year we are getting heavy rain. Since we were going to a hilly region, the fear was of landslides. And it was also flooding which damaged the road. God helped us to reach home. There were two places the road was blocked. One is called Koshi where Seven rivers meet together. This places gets a lot of flooding and heavy rain.
The conference had about 100 pastors and leaders. There were 41 churches present. We were expecting 150 people, but they had to travel s long way and could not join the meetings because of the rain and blocked roads. Those who came to the meetings were so excited and blessed. The power of God manifested in the meeting so we had to add time to it. We pushed our dinner back to 7 pm. Many recommitted their lives to God and His service. The meetings were among Rai, Limbu, and other tribal groups leader. Ministry among these types of people is not easy. Leaders were uplifted in their spirit.
We also took boxes of 450 different Christian materials. Everyone received 3 books each. And the remaining books were handed over to the Panchthar Christian society leaders to distribute to all the leaders in the district. Some books were given to bus drivers and travelers who asked for them. I also gave two radios to the president of the Panchthar Christian Society and to the oldest servant of God there, who was 76 years old.
We thank God for His provision and protection.
Please pray for other requests for meeting, church building, pastors and leaders support.
Thanks,
Pastor Harka Khadka
